Seychelles
The Republic of Seychelles comprises 115 islands, which emerge in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The Seychelles archipelago, small island state located in the northeast of Madagascar, 1600 km east of Kenya in Africa.
Figuring among the oldest islands on earth, the Seychelles archipelago is classified into two categories: 41 of the islands classified as “interior islands”; they are mainly granitic islands and are geographically clustered around the main island of Mahé, which hosts the International Airport and the nation’s capital 'Victoria'. These inner islands are the center of the Seychelles economy and tourism; they are the most requested destinations for the various luxury accommodations available. The 74 remaining islands: the so-called outer islands are coral atolls and sandbanks beyond the Seychelles plateau, less visited than their granitic cousins due to their remoteness but these pristine miniature worlds have the advantage of providing intact habitat, prolific and with very little traffics.
Seychelles has many other horizons; these islands are a true sanctuary for rare species of endemic plants and animals. The country holds a record for the highest percentage of land under natural conservation—nearly 50% of the total land area of the Seychelles; in this paradise of natural life, a wide variety of turtle that can reach 1.5m can be observe at leisure, countless colorful fish and several birds species that are not frightened by human presence. And the main attraction of Praslin, not to be missed during your trip, “La Vallée de Mai”, particularly well known for its “Coco de Mer” sometimes nicknamed the ‘love nut’ because of its shape, a species of palm that grows only in this region and which is also the symbol of the Seychelles archipelago. In this green cathedral, you can feel the full majesty of nature, only the murmur of an invisible brook disturb the silence, unless a crackling betray the passage of geckos in the thick carpet of dead leaves.
Each of the Seychelles’s islands has its own identity and charm. ‘Real Garden of Eden’, almost all the islands of Seychelles has idyllic bays and stunning beaches dotted with palm trees surrounded by smooth rocks in several shades of granite, one would think it was deliberately carved to serve as film set. For a dream vacation in a tropical paradise, the Seychelles islands are "THE DESTINATION"
